Three years ago, not being able to find a premium homemade-style Caribbean ice cream on the market in Canada, we relaunched our family company, Neale’s Sweet n Nice ice cream. Our goal was to fill that void in the ice cream market, and it allows us to carry on Grandpa Charles A. Neale’s legacy of yummy ice cream infused with Caribbean goodness.
We worked for almost two years with Dr. Goff (an ice cream specialist!) and the food scientists at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada to convert Grandpa’s homemade ice cream recipes into commercial production recipes that retained all of the Caribbean goodness. We then tested the market by launching with two flavours, Coconut and Mango.
In 2015, we bravely ventured onto the TV show Dragons’ Den, the Canadian version of Shark Tank. We not only survived our encounter with the Dragons, but we secured an investment! Check it out here.
Today, our small family company is dedicated to providing not only the best-tasting Caribbean ice cream, but also a premium ice cream that is made with all natural ingredients such as real fruit and the best Canadian dairy products. We now have four yummy flavours — Coconut, Mango, Guava Passion Fruit, and Rum & Raisin — being sold in small independent grocery stores in Toronto and Montréal.
We need your help to add two more delicious flavours to our lineup this summer that we know everyone will enjoy: Pineapple Coconut and Vanilla Spice. Your contribution will help our family business carry out a much-needed expansion to our product line, as our customers have been asking for more choices of yummy flavours. You will also help Neale’s Sweet n Nice ice cream expand into new retail accounts in the Toronto and Montréal markets to continue our growth.
